India – Day 10-13 : Goa

Liz will have to author this page. I remember getting to Goa on New Years Eve, catching up with her friends (who were also in Goa) and dancing on stage that evening.

The next thing I remember is my 100+ fever and feeling generally crappy for, I don’t know how many days Liz?

I also have some weird pictures of this freaky blister I had on my tongue. Anyway, I think it only lasted for a few days because when we left for Mumbai on the 3rd I was 100%.

I guess you really do have to be careful about what you eat. At least I probably won’t get sick in the Maldives.

India – Day 5/6 : Jaipur

Well our second trip snafu (after our night in the airport).

We got to Jaipur and found that our web travel agent hadn’t actually booked us a room at the Narain Niwas Hotel (it looked quite beautiful for the 10 minutes we were there). To this day we are still unsure if it was some kind of scam that the hotels have, but they told us their sister hotel the Naila Bagh had availability if we were interested in staying there (as opposed to sleeping on the lawn).  Unfortunately, our driver had already left, so we had no way of telling him that we were switching hotels.  This meant that first thing the next morning I had to race back to the Narain Niwas to catch our driver (Rajendra Singh +9968120198 (he will take you to some restaurants he gets kickbacks at but otherwise he is a good guy)).

Over the next 3 nights we would end up in 3 different rooms at the Naila Bagh (all lovely), have a few late nights drinking with the owner, his wife, his son (Vikram Singh who races motocross in Dubai) and his son’s wife.

I still have a lot of typing to do but we saw:
Amber Fort
City Palace
Temple of Winds

India – Day 3/4 : Delhi

Our two days in Delhi were crazy. I’m working on getting the pictures up but in a quick 2 full days we saw:
  Red Fort
  Old Delhi
  Humanyum’s Tomb
  Lotus Temple
  Qutb Minar

Unfortunately the poverty in Delhi is really overwhelming.  In retrospect (back blogging) Delhi really was the poorest of all the cities we visited.

India – Day 1/2

The first day of our honeymoon is off to an inauspicious start.

We were originally flying BA (on James’ miles) business class to London. But because of a flight time change we had to cancel those flights and fly coach at an earlier time. The result was we got to spend a day on the floor in Heathrow. Due to timing issues we couldn’t even get into the lounge to wait the 18 hours until our connection to India.

Hopefully it’s uphill from here!

Flight from LHR to Delhi was uneventful and we finally arrived in India on Dec. 24th ready to start our Honeymoon!

The Mini Moon – 9/10/06

We headed back to Maine the weekend after the wedding for a little relaxation after the hurricaine. Shez and Marv caught up with us while we were up there (they made a week out of the wedding). It was a really nice weekend.

the night after – 9/3/06

We showed up at the Waldorf after the wedding. I was still in my tux and Liz was still in her gown. When we checked in the people at the desk told us we had been upgraded (I had reserved a suite)…

We got the Presidential Suite. I’ll let the video do the blogging…
